Board Game Table: Minimalistic and elegant
How can we create a minimalistic dining table that also works as a board game table?
This idea started some years back with me living in a regular three bedroom terraced house with no extra space for a board game table and a wife that were not that keen on having a board game table for dining table.
The mission was clear. I needed something that looked like a regular dining table fitting with our style at home. Being a Dane it needed to be minimalistic and have a modern look. And knowing my wife, she would apricate it being sustainable.
As I am a Danish trained architect that spend most of my time designing furniture and play areas this seemed to be right down my alley. I the hooked up with my dear colleague, Dan, that has a stronger technical background then myself as well as some great contacts for manufacturing. Together we formed KVASIR.studio.
First task was designing a dining table and integrating the recessed playing area in a functional but minimalistic way. If we could hide it when not used we could simulate a regular dining table and use gabs as a design features.
With this in place we are now looking at pricing from potential manufactures. This is our next task.
We will keep you posted on how our ventures at KVASIR.studio continues.
