Newsletter 20 - September ‘24
Dear Kvasidians,
I am sitting in Prague writing this morning. It has been a hectic month, getting ready for the next campaign for our second production run. This was also the month where we finally shipped a table to the USA and we are quite pleased to see the shipping cost ended at $447 with pickup at Washington harbor. Transporting it to the doorstep would have been an additional $344.
We ended the Red Elm Auction and made an agreement with Danish Woodlands to plant a tree for each table we produce. The sweetest part was setting up the Gamefound page. We will be sending out an email for you to follow us and get ready for the launch.

Preparing Launch
It's been enjoyable setting up the campaign page again. The process is slightly different on Gamefound as compared to Kickstarter, with a bit of a learning curve involved. However, it was mostly straightforward. The delay in making the page sign-up ready is due to the approval process at Gamefound. As soon as we receive approval, we'll send out notifications, for you to follow us.
We plan to launch on either October 22nd or October 29th, and the campaign will run for 3 weeks. Our ambition is to produce an additional 16 tables, with any surplus considered a success. We'll be offering the oak table again, along with a smoked oak version. Expected prices are €1945 for the regular oak table and €2115 for the smoked oak table. We've managed to ship within Europe for between €130-€175. There were no shipments to the UK, which would have been more expensive. Outside of the EU zone, an export fee of €61 applied. We'll be offering the option to split payments over 3 months on Gamefound. Stay tuned for more updates on our Facebook group.

Planting Trees
One of our primary company objectives is to minimize our environmental impact within our circle of influence. To support this goal, we are sourcing trees from a forest just 30km (19 miles) from the manufacturing site. The wood is dried, cut, and manufactured into tables on-site at Jyndbjerg Snedkeri before being distributed from a Danish warehouse located 112 km (69 miles) away.
In addition to this, we aim to plant a tree for every table we produce. In partnership with our wood supplier, Danish Woodlands, we have arranged to plant these trees in the same forest from which the original wood was sourced. These 16 trees will be planted in Ouegaard Skov, near Hadsund, Denmark. We will be sharing pictures of the process on our Facebook group once the trees are in the ground.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask in our Facebook group or directly at our email, contact@kvasir.studio.
Reviewing Details
This was also the month of reviewing all drawings and details of the table. We've received valuable input from the receivers and are addressing them for future campaigns. For instance, we will ensure the boxes contain the necessary screws. There were issues with the position of the brackets for locking the table while having the extension plate in. We aim to improve the boxes in which the table is shipped. Our goal is to deliver the best possible table as a testament to Danish quality and design. We've also considered accessories and will relaunch all early produced pieces, as well as adding new options. Please let us know what you would like to see from us in our Facebook group.
What’s next?
October expectations
We're thrilled about the upcoming month. Primarily, we'll be launching the campaign for our second production run. This represents an immense achievement for us in a furniture market that's struggling. Fortunately, we continue to receive positive feedback from all of you, and we're grateful for your insights.
Some of you may have noticed we haven't discussed Essen 2024. To clarify, we would have loved to attend Essen 2024, but we don't believe our position justifies the investment. Our marketing budget is quite constrained, and expanding our reach online seems more beneficial for us. We still encourage you to like and share when you see our table on Facebook or Instagram.
Final thoughts
It's been busy moving into the new house, and I've spent most of my spare time renovating our basement, which has been a fun and exciting experience. This has taken time away from me delving into our table development. However, Dan has been carrying the weight in the past month, doing an excellent job on Gamefound and edeting the drawings.
I did manage to get a game of Star Wars Rebellion in. I'm a big Star Wars fan and love how this game retells the story. Chewy seemed to be the main saboteur and needed a few tries to fine-tune his gig. Senator Mon Mothma did a great job persuading planets to support the rebellion until the end of the game, where she realized the empire was about to win and converted to the dark side. I love those stories.
Till next time, have an awesome time,
Anders
